This had to be about 10 years ago first you have to know is I'm visually impaired I just say I'm blind because it's easier I have some usable Vision but not much and I use a guide dog this is on a city bus I am sitting in one of the side facing seats with my guide dog under the seat there are placards saying that those seats and the first rows of front-facing seats are reserved for the elderly and disabled which as a blind woman I qualify for an elderly gentleman get on the bus and despite there being multiple other seats available decides he wants to sit where I'm sitting and apparently I don't look disabled enough to be there now my guide dog at the time was a German Shepherd who being under the seat kind of Blended in with the Shadows so I can understand him not seeing her. I didn't witness it since you know blind person but I was told that this guy just stood there and gave me the death stare trying to get me to get up and move so that he could sit in my seat despite every other seat reserved for the elderly and disabled being open. The bus driver eventually said sir she's blind there are plenty of seats sit down

I was mechanized infantry stationed at Ft. Irwin, CA for about two years. We knew that desert extremely well because all we did was essentially 2 week bits of war games against various units. Most of the units we fought we would beat, quite badly, for that exact reason. The only ones who ever beat us were typically special forces of some kind or units conducting joint ops with aviation attack/recon units. There are quite a few special forces in the Army. Even most of those guys though would suffer casualties to us, but to keep things in line with the theme, YES. Our special forces are deadly and terrifying and most of the members are highly intelligent people. When trying to get into those types of units you usually go through what's called 'selection' and they are pretty open about how they are looking for specific traits in individuals that you might not necessarily be able to learn or be aware of. Very cryptic. You could go through selection and think you are doing extremely well and still not be picked up because you didn't exhibit whatever these traits were. And I'm not necessarily talking about things like being a motivational good leader or good basic soldier tasks and drills. I kind of assumed they were looking for resourcefulness and other similar traits you can't necessarily teach to someone. Many of the tasks they put you up to seem weird to me, but it was apparent there was a reason for that, I just couldn't figure out what it was.

My mom isn't always the brightest and at times lacks common sense. She was put on bedrest when she was pregnant with my older sister (her first pregnancy), but my mom's friends told her it was a bad idea to be on bedrest while pregnant and that she needs to be outside and walk around. She went to a swap meet, went into labor later in the day, and my older sister was born premature. Thankfully my older sister is fine but she had to deal with bad asthma as a kid and was sick very often, she still gets sick more often than others as an adult. When I asked my mom "Why the hell did you listen to your friends over your doctor?" she said "I didn't have access to look up the information I needed like you do now." This happened in 1994.

How about the reverse situation? My doctor was starting me on new medications and I told him I had quit drinking beer. He made the change and I ended up in hospital bleeding internally. "Oh, when you said you quit drinking beer, you meant it. I nearly killed you." He was so casual about it.

I don't care what homeopathic or alternative form of medicine you read about on Google or what you think you know medically speaking. You don't know sh*t and that's okay but when you are speaking with a literal medical professional who has a lot more medical knowledge than you pull your head out of your ass, get the sh*t out of your ears, and listen to them!
